New Artwork

I continued to expand my floral studies with new artwork. The subject material came from Vanderfleet Flowers in Toronto. What attracts me to this florist is their unique selection of flowers. The subjects included Phalaenopsis Orchid, Parrot Tulip, Bromeliad and the Pussy Willow.

The parrot tulip provided a unique set of challenges because they were white with green highlights. To shoot the tulips, the lighting was critical not only to bring out the detail but also preserve the feel of softness. When printing the pictures in the darkroom, particular care was required to ensure that the whites are white and at the same time bring out the detailed textures of the beautiful flower. As you can see from the pictures, I was able to master this balance.

From a series of shots taken over several days, I selected three to create 'The Parrot Tulip Series'. This series along with The Flame are available in a new edition size of five and are priced at $1,400.00. They have been elegantly framed with a five inch mat.

Just click on the picture you are interested in ordering and complete the fields and submit your order. I will provide you with an order form containing the price, shipping costs, applicable taxes and estimated shipping date as well as a link to PayPal.

With PayPal, you can still use your credit card for payment or sign-up for your own PayPal account. It is your option; in either case, it is a secure method. PayPal provides easy instructions on how to make your payment.
